My Idea of Society - Part I

Society: Society ... Its a framework. Frame work for human life.

As a software engineer, I like the word "Frame work". It eases the life of the programmer.

Framework: Set of rules having life. Having life ... yes there is a big difference between the set of rules on the paper and set of rules in action.

Again I, like to repeat the sentence "Framework: Eases the life of the programmer".

Framework specifies:
1. Where the module fits in overall process
2. Behaviour of the module at given place and time
3. How the given module communicates with other modules
4. Order of the different module executions
5. Mechanisms to control the behaviour of the modules (Exception handlers)

I think these 5 points are sufficient to establish analogy between society and framework

Before proceeding further, I will introduce my interpretation of "Bhagavadgita" and proceed further to establish relationships between message of "Bhagavadgita" , society and framework.

What Bhagavadgita says:

1. It explains the human behaviour
2. It founds roots to the human behaviour in indrias
3. Speaks about how to control indrias
4. How one can avoid negative effects of indrias
5. Need for experiencing everything in human life
6. Different ways to realize self
and three important ways are
1. Karma yoga
2. Bhakti yoga
3. Gnana yoga (Considered to be most difficult)

Note: Here I want to mention something, I guess, I read it from prasnopanishad.

In philosophy every effect has its own cause
Human mind causes and the effects will come from indrias

Deva guna: Acceptable effects of indrias are considered as deva guna
Daitva guna: Non-acceptable effects of indrias are considered as daitva guna

Many laws are established to control the human behaviour in many ways so that always he will control his mind(cause) in such a way that the effects of the indrias are always acceptable.

Relating Society, Bhagavadgita and Framework:

Now question araises what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. As long as there is only one man, there is no question of acceptability and non-acceptability. Everything is acceptable. But what happens when some bunch of people are living together. Now the behaviour of the each individual is in such a way that, it will not hurt or play with other peoples feelings(What is feeling, may be someother time, but for sure) or everyone has to come up with some set of acceptable behaviours those are accepted by majority of the people living together.

What are these acceptable behaviours. Is it possible to give some name to these set of behaviours. Yes and for some time call it as deva guna. We are saying behaviour is effect of indria. But we know, there is no effect without cause. Is it possible to define or list out some of the causes, those will cause above mentioned deva gunas. Yes .. it is possible to list out causes. And we call those causes as laws .. rules that everyone has to follow.

What are these laws? Is there any specific name to these laws? (Yes, there is a name to these laws, may be we can discuss about this in my next post). For now just try to identify some of the rules or laws that you are following in society and their effects ...

Let me give these rules or laws on broader level

Our ancients divided human life into four categories

1. Brahmacharya
2. Grahasta
3. Vanaprastha
4. Sanyasa

But for my blog I took freedom to break brhamacharya into two parts as child and students and to combine vanaprastha and sanyasa into single one. I felt in present society this division makes more sense either according to present life style or according to the responsibilities, each person having towards the others.

1. Child(infants)
2. Students - Brahmacharya has to be followed
3. Household life
4. Old mans life which is ideal stage for Sanyasa

Each category has its predefined rules or laws those are to be followed.

to be continued ........... and re-organized ........ (Please be patient .. second post is going under scrutinization ..)
